The Harmony Training Exercise Grid

The 30 Harmony Training exercises are arranged in a grid order; divided into ten exercise chains, each consisting three exercises. The first exercise of each chain is the most basic, the second intermediate and the third is the most advanced.

Each exercise chain is journey towards a different functional movement direction; all chains are as functionally important as each other.

In the exercise grid, each exercise has a name, a number and a letter. The number represents the number of the chain and the letter represents the difficulty level within the chain. The names are descriptive of the function.

The 'grid' system provides a roadmap to progress the movement foundations of the body in an even and balanced physical manner.

In a chain, the Harmony BASIC Basic exercises (1a-10a) are always learned first and used as a foundation to perform the Harmony INTERMEDIATE exercises (1b-10b) later on. Once mastered, the Harmony INTERMEDIATE exercises become the foundations for learning the Harmony ADVANCED exercise group (1c-10c).

Uneven training might be detrimental. For example, chains #5 and 7 will be easier for a trained dancer and chain #3 easier for a professional windsurfer. To prevent individuals from specializing in some exercises while neglecting others according to personal preference or third-party demands, it is recommended not to focus on an advanced exercise of one chain while neglecting a basic exercise of another chain. Rather, it is preferred to first master all the Foundation Basic exercises, then all the Foundation Intermediate exercises, and then all the Foundation Advanced exercises.

The process of obtaining the ability to perform all thirty exercises harmoniously will also make the body fit, look good and feel good. This achievement also means that the body is now ready and safe to enjoy and benefit from the movement challenges of modern life.
