The 10 Harmony BASIC exercises are not physically demanding but require conscious understanding of the movement, becoming intuitive only after practice.

As these exercises are not intuitive, everyone practicing this method should master them before progressing to the more advanced exercises. As the more advanced exercises are mastered, the basic exercises are used as a warm up and are continuously improved upon. In turn, this allows for better performance at higher levels.

Because the ten basic exercises are safe and not physically demanding, they have a special importance for people with very poor movement foundations and people undergoing musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

It is important that the full-body training method used in the clinical setting can be continued in a healthy setting as part of a regular active lifestyle. This facilitates a smooth and safe transition from injury to health. Continuing to practice Harmony Training on a regular basis will enhance healthy movement foundations, prevent some injuries and minimize others.

In the clinical setting, success in performing the 10 Harmony Basic exercises can be used to record individual functional ability and can serve as an indication of fundamental functional movement difficulties.

For example, a client with chronic back pain might have a problem with exercise 1a Salsa Dancing, as it requires good quality pelvic stabilization while transferring the body weight from left to right. Additionally, the same client might have pain during the 3a Hoof Flexion exercise. This can provide information to the clinician on the areas to focus the intervention.

With discharge from therapy, the newly gained ability to harmoniously perform relevant Harmony Training exercises can indicate the actual success of the functional rehabilitation.

Low-level Fun Machine Training can be safely added as soon as the 10 Harmony Basic exercises are mastered.

Mastering the Harmony BASIC exercises is just the beginning. Taking advantage of the movement foundations and learning to harmoniously perform more advanced exercises as part of a healthy active lifestyle is paramount to the ultimate success of the rehabilitation process - prevention of recurrences.

After the 10 Harmony BASIC exercises can be performed harmoniously, proceed to the Harmony INTERMEDIATE exercises.
